Brasov - Romania

Brasov is a one of the most visited cities in Romania with about 320,000 inhabitants. Centrally located, it is in the Transylvania Region and is surrounded by the Southern Carpathian Mountains (Transylvanian Alps). Brasov is a beautiful medieval city that boasts gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture and once linked the Ottoman Empire with Western Europe. The Main Square holds the Old Town Hall, The Black Church (one of the most famous landmarks) as well as renaissance-style buildings. Outside Brasov, there are many quaint villages, a famous ski resort that is 5 miles north of Brasov and many castles to explore.
